Rights4Girls at the DNC

On July 27, 2016, Rights4Girls hosted a reception in Philadelphia during the Democratic National Convention to raise awareness around domestic child sex trafficking and the needs of girls of color. We honored three exceptional women who have been champions for women and girls of color: Editor-at-Large at Elle.com, Melissa Harris-Perry, co-founder of the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, and CEO of the DNC, Rev. Leah Daughtry. Mayor Jim Kenney of Philadelphia, activist Michael Skolnik, and Judge Lori Dumas gave powerful remarks in support of our No Such Thing campaign and justice reform work to end the Sexual Abuse to Prison Pipeline for girls of color.
